2016 Goals

I’ll check in with these goals at the end of each quarter in 2016. See you at the end of March for the first checkin!

Goal 1: Increase my net worth by $22,000, in service of a longer-term goal: celebrating my 40th birthday with a gift to myself of a $100,000 net worth. I’ll be 37 at the end of January 2016, so I have just over three years to accumulate $65000 more in assets. I

Goal 2: Increase my income, by either getting a raise or a new job. I can’t set an amount here since it would depend on what I was doing, but I would like to increase my base income by at least 15%, beginning in July.

Goal 3: Either buy a house, buy a car, or get my cash-on-hand to $20,000.

Goal 4: Contribute $12,000 to my retirement accounts.

Goal 5: Keep up the zero food waste project.

  1. It is nice to have your goals implicitly laid out like this, I may borrow a page from your book and do the same. Having it in writing feels like it will help with accountability and give you that much more motivation. Keep us up to date.

  2. Nice goals, I like the way you’ve kept it simple.

I will definitely be following suit after having over complicated things a tad the last couple of years!

    Good Luck!
